Carl Walters is professor emeritus in the Institute for the Oceans and Fisheries, University of British Columbia, Vancouver BC Canada. He completed his doctoral degree in 1969 from Colorado State University and has been at UBC since then. He has participated in over 200 peer reviewed publications and has won several major awards including the Volvo Environment Prize, American Fisheries Society Award of Excellence, and ICES prix d’Excellence. His research interests include fish population dynamics, ecosystem modeling, and adaptive management.

Edo D’Agaro is Adjunct Professor at the University of Udine (Italy). He joined the University of Udine after several years of research abroad (Roslin Insitute (Scotland), University of Stirling (Scotland) and Cornell University (USA)). He has made acknowledged contributions to different aspects of Animal Science, Animal Breeding and Molecular Biology. He currently leads a Laboratory of Animal Genomics at the University of Udine. He has a long experience as a Referee for the following international journals: Aquaculture, Italian Journal of Animal Production Science, Aquaculture Research, Bulletin Francais de la Peche e de la Protection des Milieu Aquatiques. He is a member of the following professional bodies: European Aquaculture Society; International Astacology Association; Italian Animal Production Association; International WHO’S WHO Association of Professionals, USA; European Association of Biotechnology. He is author of over 120 papers and 15 books and chapters of books in the field of Animal science and Animal breeding.

Dr. Barnes has over 30 years of fisheries work experience with the South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks. He holds a Ph.D. in Fisheries from South Dakota State University and is currently the manager of McNenny State Fish Hatchery near Spearfish, SD. Dr. Barnes He has published over 90 manuscripts on a variety of topics including fish nutrition, fish reproduction, fish rearing techniques, fish disease, fisheries management, education, administration, and occupational safety and health.

Mark C. Belk is a professor of Biology at Brigham Young University. Dr. Belk received his Ph.D. from the University of Georgia in 1992. He has been on the faculty at BYU since 1992, and has been the editor of the Western North American Naturalist for 10 years. His research is in the general area of evolutionary ecology with a focus on the evolution of life histories and effects of predation. He also works on conservation biology of fishes, including freshwater fishes of the American West, Central and South America, and Alaska. He has published 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals. His published work and presentations cover a range of topics from basic natural history to experimental and theoretical work in evolutionary ecology. Most of his work involves a combination of experimental and observational field work and laboratory experiments. Dr. Belk serves on several advisory boards for conservation of threatened and endangered species, and his research has been important in guiding the management of many of these species.

Josué Álvarez-Borrego received his BS degree in physical oceanography in 1981 from the Facultad de Ciencias Marinas, Ensenada, Baja California, México, and his MSc and PhD degrees in optics in 1983 and 1993 from CICESE, Mexico. He is a Professor with the Applied Physics Division, Optics Department, CICESE, México. His research interests are image processing with applications to biogenic particles and image processing of the sea surface. He is a member of the Mexican Academy of Optics, National Research System (SNI), and the Mexican Sciences Academy.

Russell is a senior experimental scientists with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industry Research Organisation (CSIRO) of Australia. He has more than 20 years of experience in fisheries research, with a focus on pelagic shark and fish species. Russell has authored or co-authored 19 peer-reviewed papers and a further 19 peer-reviewed reports. His current research effort is directed towards the examination of movement patterns and population structure through the use of electronic tags and novel genetic techniques.

Dr. Nelson Colihueque is Associate Professor of Genetics at Universidad de Los Lagos. He received his MSc in 1991 and his PhD in 2010 both from Universidad de Chile. He has published over 30 papers on a variety of topics including evolutionary cytogenetics, molecular biology, genetics, aquaculture, molecular systematics, zoology, biotechnology, morphology and biodiversity.

Dr. Diaz obtained his Doctorate in Sciences from National Autonomous University of Mexico in 1989, He is senior research at Marine Biotechnology Department (CICESE). His research focused in evaluate the effect of climate change on the physiological and molecular responses in different marine organisms, principally molluscs, crustacean and fishes. Dr. Diaz authored about 82 peer-reviewed research papers in the journal of International repute.

Professor Imsland is research director in aquaculture in Akvaplan-niva, Tromsø, Norway. He is also adjunct professor in aquaculture at the Department of Biology, University of Bergen, Norway. Professor Imsland has previously worked as Director of Statistics in the Icelandic based genomic company, Urður-Verðandi-Skuld. Professor Imsland has authored more than 160 peer-review manuscripts and several book chapters in aquaculture related topics.

Cengiz Koçak graduated from the Department of Biology, Science Faculty of Ege University, Izmir-Turkey. Currently, he is a hidrobiologist working at Fisheries Faculty of Ege University, Department of Hydrobiology. He was appointed as an Associate Professor in 2008 and since January 2015 he is a Professor at the same department. His research mainly focuses on taxonomy, identification and ecology of Decapoda, Sea Spiders (Pycnogonida) and Leptostraca.

Dr. Fabrice Teletchea has been working on fish for the past 15 years. He initially worked on fish taxonomy and then moved to study fish domestication in aquaculture in the past ten years. He also developed a comparative framework of the reproductive strategies of European freshwater fish species; this was done to have better understanding of different trade-offs observed at the early life stages of fishes, and to help efficiently domesticating them.

Dr. Elizabeth Grace Boulding did her B.Sc. and her M.Sc. research on selection by shell-breaking crabs on their bivalve prey at Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre, Bamfield, BC, Canada. Her Ph.D. research on the ecology and systematics of marine snails took place at Tatoosh Island and Friday Harbor Laboratories at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA, USA. In 1993, she was awarded an NSERC Women's Faculty Award, at the University of Guelph, Guelph, ON, Canada, where she is currently working as a Professor in the Department of Integrative Biology studying Atlantic salmon population genomics of complex traits.

“Dr. Paulinus C. Chigbu is Director of the NOAA Living Marine Resources Cooperative Science Center (LMRCSC), University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Princess Anne, MD, USA, since 2006. He received his Ph.D from the School of Fisheries, University of Washington, Seattle, WA, USA.
